A densely branching shrub or small tree
up to 6 m high, with interesting bark texture  and catkins.
Originates in Japan, with leaves that are similar to purpureas.

Coppiced this willow grows to about 6-7 here, suitable as a focal point, for living structures like parts of arbours or taller fedges.
